2012 - 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser Fuse Relay Boxes Location
2012 - 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser, has 2 or 3 (depending on the model) fuse and relay boxes, 1 or 2 (depending on the model) fuse relay box in the engine compartment and 1 fuse relay box in the passenger compartment.
Engine Compartment Fuse Relay Box Location:
The location of the fuse relay box A in the engine compartment is on the driver's side of the engine. The location of the fuse relay box B (if equipped) in the engine compartment is on the driver's side of the engine, above the main fuse relay box. The fuse and relays layout diagram is on the fuse relay box cover. If you want a detailed layout, you can find it in the owner's manual. In the fuse relay box is a fuse puller, tool for extracting fuses, with which you can easily remove each fuse.
Passenger Compartment Fuse Relay Box Location:
The location of the fuse relay box in the passenger compartment is on the driver's side under the dashboard, behind a cover. The fuse relay layout diagram is on the fuse relay box cover. If you want a detailed layout, you can find it in the owner's manual.
WARNING AND NOTES REGARDING FUSE REPLACEMENT IN THE VEHICLE:
- The vehicle is secured against rolling away.
- All electrical consumers are switched off.
- The vehicle is switched off.
- Always replace faulty fuses with specified new fuses containing the correct amperage.
- Use only fuses appeoved for Toyota with the respective fuse rating.
- When is the fuse box open, make shure that no moisture can enter the fuse box.
- When closing the fuse box, make shure that the seal of the lid is positioned correctly on the fuse box.
Common failures related to fuses:
Audio system fuse (especially JBL equipment): For a 2013 model with the JBL audio system, there was a reported case where the 20A "Radio No. 2" fuse kept blowing repeatedly. After the owner disconnected the rear subwoofer (amplifier), the fuse stopped blowing, indicating that an internal short circuit in the amplifier unit or a wiring problem was the cause. This fuse supplies power to the rear subwoofer/amplifier, while the head unit uses a separate fuse, "Radio No. 1."
